In the ideal outcome, your horse will move with looseness and in a good balance.
You don’t have to ‘control’ the head-neck frame or refrain your horse from taking over the tempo by constantly holding him back.
You don’t have to worry about your horse getting tense and being afraid of the environment.
To help you with this, we’ve developed the Relaxed and Supple Horse Course.

Her approach blends classical principles with modern training insights, helping riders achieve softness, connection, and refinement in their riding.
The Relaxed and Supple Horse Course consists of the following five training modules:
Module #1
Understanding your horse’s behaviour
Why does your horse become tense under saddle? Why does he struggle to stay composed when you give him a loose rein?
Understanding your horse’s behavior is the first step to solving tension and creating relaxation and looseness in the body.
In this module, Annemarie will guide you through key insights into your horse’s natural responses, helping you recognize the root causes of his behaviour.
Module #2
Finding your IDEAL posture and mindset
Your horse’s relaxation and balance start with you. Tension in your body affects your horse, and an unfocused mind can make communication unclear. In this module, Annemarie and Romy will help you find a posture that allows you to stay relaxed, supple, and effective in the saddle.
Beyond physical alignment, you’ll also develop the right mental focus to ride with confidence and clarity. By improving both your body awareness and mindset, you’ll be able to guide your horse in the best possible way, creating a smoother, more harmonious ride.
Module #3
Finding Relaxation and Suppleness on the Ground
True relaxation and suppleness start before you even get in the saddle. A horse that is tense or distracted on the ground will carry that tension into riding. In this module, Annemarie will guide you through targeted exercises to help your horse release tension, improve focus, and develop better body awareness from the ground.
By working on relaxation and suppleness in groundwork, you’ll build a stronger foundation of trust and communication. This will not only make your horse more responsive and balanced but also create a smoother, more enjoyable riding experience.
Module #4
Finding Relaxation and Suppleness in the Saddle
Once in the saddle, maintaining relaxation and suppleness is key to a smooth and harmonious ride. But how do you prevent tension from creeping in? And what’s the best way to regain softness when things go wrong?
In this module, Romy will guide you through practical exercises designed to prevent tightness and resistance in your horse’s body. You’ll also learn effective exercises to restore relaxation and suppleness when tension arises.
By refining your approach, you’ll create a horse that stays loose, balanced, and responsive—even in challenging moments.
Module #5
Solving Specific Challenges
Every horse and rider face unique challenges—but the key to overcoming them lies in understanding why they happen and how to respond effectively. In this final module, Annemarie and Romy take a deep dive into real-life case studies, offering practical solutions for common yet complex problems.
You’ll learn how to approach competitions and new environments with confidence, how to handle a horse that takes over the tempo or even runs off, and what to do when your horse feels untouchable—so reactive that even the slightest aid or breath creates tension.
Through these case studies, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of how to adapt your training, stay composed, and guide your horse towards lasting relaxation and suppleness.
