You’re not alone.
Many dressage riders struggle with tension, whether it’s a horse that feels unpredictable and spooky or one that rushes through the aids.
But relaxation isn’t just a dream—it’s a skill that can be developed.
The Relaxed and Supple Horse Course gives you practical, step-by-step exercises to release tension, build trust, and create true looseness in your horse’s body—both on the ground and in the saddle.
Imagine riding with softness, confidence and a horse that moves in a good balance. Ready to make that a reality?
In the ideal outcome, your horse will move with looseness and in a good balance.
You don’t have to ‘control’ the head-neck frame or refrain your horse from taking over the tempo by constantly holding him back.
You don’t have to worry about your horse getting tense and being afraid of the environment.
To help you with this, we’ve developed the Relaxed and Supple Horse Course.

The Relaxed and Supple Horse Course consists of the following five training modules:
Module #1
Understanding your horse’s behaviour
Before you can create relaxation, you need to understand the cause of tension.
In this module, you’ll learn how a horse’s basic needs such as safety, comfort, and motivation influence behavior and tension.
You’ll discover how fear, confusion, or lack of engagement often lie at the root of resistance, and what you can do to help your horse feel safe, willing, and ready to learn.
This is the foundation for everything that follows.
Module #2
Finding your IDEAL posture and mindset
Relaxation in your horse starts with awareness of your own body and mind.
In this module, you’ll discover how your mindset and posture affect your horse’s tension, and how to release pressure in both body and mind.
You’ll learn how to deal with fear, manage anxiety, and shift negative thoughts so you can ride with more clarity and confidence.
This module gives you practical tools to stay calm, stay present, and become the kind of rider your horse can trust.
Module #3
Finding Relaxation and Suppleness on the Ground
A tense horse under saddle is often already tense on the ground.
In this module, you’ll learn how to release tension before your ride. Through clear and progressive groundwork exercises, you’ll help your horse become more confident, responsive, and mentally present.
You’ll discover how connection, timing, and body language build the trust needed for true relaxation, even in more challenging situations.
Module #4
Finding Relaxation and Suppleness in the Saddle
This module helps you prevent and release tension during riding.
You’ll learn how poor balance, mental overload, or external distractions can affect your horse and how to respond effectively.
Romy guides you through simple, practical exercises to improve balance, calm forward energy, and rebuild softness in both body and mind.
You’ll develop tools to handle spooky corners, reset tension, and support your horse through challenging moments.
Module #5
Solving Specific Challenges
Every horse and rider face unique challenges.
The key to overcoming them lies in understanding the root cause and choosing a thoughtful response.
In this final module, Annemarie and Romy explore common tension patterns and share real-life case studies to help you stay clear and confident in your approach.
You’ll discover how to support your horse through tricky situations, adapt your training when things don’t go as planned, and keep building relaxation and connection no matter the challenge.
